THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATION
The association promotes studies and researches directed to solve technical problems in collaboration with the relevant public bodies, with research and experimentation institutes, also cooperating with information bodies. It therefore maintains close and permanent relations with public and private, regional, national and EEC institutions and bodies, among which: the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Finance and the Regional Authorities.
The A.P.I. also joins the General Federation of Agriculture (Confagricoltura), the National Association of Agriculturists (A.I.A.), the EEC bodies competent in the sector and the European Federation of Aquaculture Producers (F.E.A.P.). A.P.I. representatives are present in the Financing Committee (under art. 23, Law No 41 of 17 February 1982), established by the General Direction of Fishing and Aquaculture of MiPAF, in the National Committee for the Protection and Management of Marine Biological Resources, in the Central Advisory Commission of Sea Fishing, in the "Agricultural and Food Table" established by the Council of Ministers, in a number of technical tables at the national and regional level. The association also participates in updating meetings with professional associations of the national zootechnical sector promoted by the Food and Nutrition Department and the Public Veterinary Health Department of the Ministry of Health, among which it takes part in the Table of Ichthyic Die of CNEL.
It is worth to mention the presence of A.P.I. in the "Aquaculture" Specialised Section of the Fishing Advisory Committee of the European Union, and in the "Aquaculture" Work Group of COPA/COGECA, an advisory body of the European Commission. Moreover, as far as the initiatives provided by the 2080/93 EEC regulations, Fishing and Aquaculture Sectorial Plan 1994-99, since 1994 A.P.I. has started a "Monitoring system of the market of aquaculture ichthyic products in Italy".
Finally, A.P.I. had a successful collaboration with Uniprom regarding the promotional campaign in favour of the trout consumption, realised thanks to financing from SFOP 1994-99.
